Keno To Go
Casino Keno is a bit like a faithful and always
hungry dog, or perhaps having gum on your shoe is
a more accurate analogy. Once you've learned the
game it will follow you in the casino. Are you dining?
Shopping? Strolling? Sleeping? You can play keno
almost anywhere thanks to eager runners who will
gladly provide tickets and take wagers to the casino
keno lounge. Tipping is the custom, especially when
a runner returns with a win. $1 or $2 tips are appropriate
for wins between $10 and $40. Five percent is common
for amounts up to $500. Use your judgment for wins
above that. One strategy is to tip generously for
the first ticket whatever the outcome and not again
until you win.
If the constant back-and-forth is too hectic, simply
write a multi-game or multi-race ticket. It's one
ticket repeated for as many games as you choose.
You can play dozens, even hundreds of games. The
keno balls will be blowing as you golf, dine with
friends, or lounge by the pool. Some people go directly
to the keno lounge at the beginning of their casino
visit, write a multi-game ticket, and don't return
until hours or days later.
As we said before, the rules for when you must redeem
a ticket were once universal but are now in a state
of flux. Check before playing. Below are the original
rules. Follow them unless you read something different
in the keno brochure.
